Beppu is one of the most famous hot spring places in Japan. My parents took us to Beppu for over night trip. My favorite uncle and anti, my sister, and my nephew came along.

There is an attraction called, "Beppu Jigoku Meguri" which can translated as "Beppu Hell Visits". There are 9 different Hells - Ocean Hell, Blood Pond Hell, Mountain Hell, etc. If you are interested in all of them, you can purchase a pass at \2000, or you pay only what you are interested in around 450 yen each. We went to Monk, Ocean, Blood Pond and Tornade only as we did not have enough time. They are all natural hot springs.

We enjoyed Hot Spring and dinner at Japanese Inn (Ryokan).

Next day, we visited Mt. Takasaki to see thousands of wild monkeys and Mt. Aso which is a live volcano. Sometimes, it is closed when the activity of volcano gets dangerous. Mt. Aso area is in located Kujyu National Park and very popular for driving and hiking.
